Case File 2018.07.13

The city had gotten warm pretty quick, though it also made it better weather to take a walk. The sun had recently fallen as darkness wakes the Chicago nightlife. Alex finds himself moving down one of the sidewalks along one of Chicago's many arteries, passing by a Radio Shack with a 'Going Out of Sale' display that catches his attention. Something about the song the lead singer was singing caught his attention and drew him in closer. Something was odd... the lyrics reminding him of that day... Delilah... and it almost seemed like a shadow of a girl that reminded him of her-- though it was gone as soon as he looked.

Suddenly the glass of the storefront shattered and massive hands wrapped themselves around Alex's throat. People around them didn't seem to take notice of what was happening right in front of them. The figure of the musician he'd seen on the TV in the store display shifting to be replaced by a twisted Sidhe, Puck, wrapped in shreds of leather and all manner of facial piercings. The man taunted him about playing in traffic as he threw Alex into the middle of it, causing an old RV to swerve and turning over trying to avoid him before a scared shriek was cut short.

Alex was still trying to process everything going on around him, trying to focus. Puck was moving towards him until that shadow of Delilah appeared again, attacking the man with a curved bladed to distract him and make her way over to Alex. She was telling him he needed to 'wake up' causing further confusion as he tried to process who was standing in front of him. At least before Puck hit her and slammed her into the building across the street. His first reaction was to race to her and help her, but kept in mind that she wouldn't have said what she did for no reason-- he trusted her and forced himself awake.

In the process waking up Nedd as she opened the door to her room to see Alex, who'd stumbled out of his own trying to get surveillance of his surroundings after the nightmare. He explained as best he could what had happened, how he remembered it, as she was ready and wary with Power gathered in her hand to deal with a fight. She explained that the Castle itself wouldn't allow anything to pass through, and since Alex himself was a guest, he couldn't invite something in himself. Given how the structure was warded and protected with a hefty threshold it would hold up against quite a bit. However, the Dreaming World was something of a different nature. She gave Alex one of her potions to help him get back to sleep without the nightmares, and would talk with him tomorrow and help him brew his own. It would be something in the meantime. Eventually he'd manage to get back to rest.
