Case File 2018.06.08

After fending off the attack of those likely sent by the Council to see him dead rather than end up in enemy hands, Liam's jeep had been side swiped. The impact hard enough to cause it to flip and begin to expel fluids from the vehicle. One of his would-be assailants attempted to throw a black hood over Liam's head. Regardless of the seeming handicap regarding his magic, Liam was still no easy opponent to engage. The warlocks looking to claim that large bounty thought themselves to have the advantage as he led them to a creepy old house on the Gold Coast. A house that once belonged to a formerly deceased lover, the ectomancer Cassie Troy.

Liam did a good job at turning the game around on Blaine, Fozz, Alice and Skar. However in the conflict, the house itself was set on fire. He was unfortunately still trapped inside with rubble pinning him down, the result of Blaine's last spell. As the skylight broke and provided an opening from the smoke to drift to instead of smothering his prone body, Liam made the effort again to extract himself from the rubble... this time with success. Pulling himself out of a side window onto the wet grass, he could hear sirens and see lights flashing out in the front at a distance. He'd saw her in the backyard not far away, stumbling and collapsing into Elena's arms. Or what he thought was Elena until he felt the sting of the needle as something was injected into his neck. He'd tried to react, aiming for a kill shot, but just missed as Kali moved back, anticipating the strike as whatever was in that injection started to act fast and force Liam to lose consciousness.

When Elena had received the call from Rhea, she'd started to reach out to everyone available from her little supernatural address book to get help in searching for Liam. She'd taken to the streets as well, listening to the radio for inbound calls... a house fire wouldn't normally have caught her attention, but it was the familiar address of Cassie's former residence that had her heading that direction. She arrived only moments after the fire department, showing her badge to get as close as safely possible to the scene. She would be there well into the night and early morning, waiting painfully long to examine the scene.

The site had one person with eyes burned out and in critical condition in a van near the house fire. Three bodies were inside, one female and two male. There didn't even appear to be enough to ID with dental records. The mix of the rain that'd rolled in along with the fire department's efforts to put out the fire ruined any real chances of picking up trace from the scene. Liam was gone.
