As Liam jumped out the window in pursuit of the impostor, Elena stayed inside the apartment to see the fate of the real Jacob Reynolds. It wasn't good, he was stashed in the small pantry with several stab wounds, barely alive still...and not looking to remain that way for much longer. Elena did her best to comfort the man and gently ask him about what happened on the ship. Jacob admits that he'd done some odd jobs before, but it was nothing like this. He started apologizing as the memories of what happened to the crew came to mind. He was able to get out that he'd been hired to get a box down through Lake Michigan from Meldrum for his client, a young woman named Teller. From the description Jacob provided, Elena was able to quickly piece together the 'specific' Teller he was referring to...Gwen Teller. As the last of Jacob's life faded, Elena searched his pockets for clues and came up with a single piece of paper with a date, time and location.
It was shortly after this point that Liam returned from his brief scrap with the man he stated as Harlowe, one of Council's most wanted. Elena briefly conveyed what she learned from the now deceased Jacob Reynolds-- Gwen Teller had hired him for the missing cargo on the ship that'd crashed into the docks. The eerie calm that Liam kept in front of Elena was all too telling that he was upset with the situation. Elena tried to point out that they had information on the paper she'd found noting where Gwen would be...it didn't seem to change whatever was going on in Liam's mind at the moment. Once again, whatever Gwen was up to had cost people their lives. She informed Liam that she'd call in the crime scene so that he could move a little ways off to avoid interfering with the technology of her cell phone. Even if he wasn't at full power currently, his presence would have some effect. When they left the scene finally, they'd have plenty to discuss and prepare for regarding Gwen.
