Liam had taken the advantage of being able to be out at night yesterday evening...visiting Mac's and wandering the city. He'd enjoyed the renewed freedom, but it didn't make him any less of a target. He'd spent a fair bit of the day going through Council reports and providing responses, the paperwork side of the Wizarding world. He was at the stove brewing something by the time Rhea found him in the kitchen. Working on brewing a potion, and for a moment somewhat free for a bit of a chat.
Rhea commented about the state she'd observed the two last night, concerned about Alex as well as the trouble that'd taken place in Montrose Cemetery. They'd managed to step on each other's toes during that 'conversation' about as much as she'd suspected after speaking with Alex last night. Though despite the fact, as Liam put it, a world class necromancer had manipulated Alex into a trap set up for Liam-- it left the matter unresolved since the other individual got away that night. She wanted to confirm the why Liam aspect in the equation, figuring it might be more than his Senior Council position. She hadn't expected the answer he gave.
An individual named Crowley had stolen something that group of necromancers wanted and given it to Liam-- something that would be devastating to the world as a whole. It'd taken the whole Council to stop Kemmler last time...and right now with the current Vampire War-- the numbers and strength just wasn't there to deal with such a threat once more. The only real plan for dealing with the 'one that got away' on Halloween night is to take him out... The Council doesn't know fully what happened to Liam or what Crowley did, and the more people that knew the more dangerous it'd become with him being hunted. The only thing in his favor currently was that knowledge was still hazy in details and very few knew the whole truth.
Alex had unfortunately been the first they'd found to associate a link of some kind that Liam knew the young man and would come after him. It could have just as well been Elena or Rhea herself...and it meant she'd need to be more on guard than she already was even after the other night's events. Especially now after what bits of information Liam had just revealed to her. She changed the topic at that point to inquire if there was something she could do to help in his potion making or to grab dinner. He'd opted for the later and had things cleared up by the time she'd returned. They'd continued conversation on a different tangent, a bit more casual...but she couldn't help but feel the nagging though that this was as 'normal' as life would be for her. Her life had changed, but these moments of calm were all the more precious...seeing as that other night gave a pretty clear reminder on how quickly it could disappear.
