It’d been some time since Alex ventured out much beyond the small area outside the Castle. Seeing he was low on cigarettes he decided to make the venture out to pick up a new pack. On the way he’d heard a brief commotion behind him as another man clipped the shoulder of a woman that’d just past and ended up knocking the contents of books and paper notes from her grasp, part of which drifted with the wind towards Alex. He’d quickly find out that this woman wasn’t normal, another practitioner of a sorts…and interested in the more forbidden arts. He’d tried to dissuade her from looking further into what one of her paper notes hinted at, but at the same time he was curious. Enough that Alex would follow Mildred Lindquist back to her place to learn more.
