It seemed the prior conversation with Rhea hadn't fallen on deaf ears-- Alex looked more put together than prior. Not exactly less scruffy, but it looked like he had actually intended to have the beard and hair style he'd half-heartedly sported now. He was in the lounge by the time Rhea had wandered in from her shower and self practice in the training room. She greeted him with a smile, taking in the visible effort to work on himself. He'd offered to make her a drink but she wasn't feeling like putting alcohol in her system at the moment so opted for a bottle of juice. To which Alex decided to try a bit of 'practice' at throwing it at her with a bit more force when using magic-- something Rhea stated would be nice to not practice like this. He didn't aim it directly at her or to hurt her, but it would be nice to not have to worry about dodging random objects when trying to unwind within the Castle. He'd inquired about the progress for restoring Liam's power...the best she could state was it's a work in progress. He didn't get why they weren't out and back at Wanderland in Vegas or directly trying to track down Gwen-- not like the prior road trip of doing just that had yielded much result in the first place. She pointed out you don't just go to Wanderland for the most part...and it's not like they hadn't been trying to keep tabs on Gwen-- just nothing to go on yet.
The frustration of it all was getting to him and he broached the topic of getting a sword...so he doesn't have to resort to a gun. She had a feeling that Alex was talking about a blade like Rhodanthe or one Liam carried...not just any old sword. Rhea states that her blade came to her, she didn't look for one and even why questioning him on why Alex felt he needed one badly, pointed out that would be a discussion to consult Liam about-- he was Alex's teacher after all. Not that she wanted to point to him as the constant end-all-be-all resource, but the questions he was asking was best broached by his teacher. He didn't want to always go to Liam and even added that the man has other things to deal with and doesn't have time. Rhea counters that if he doesn't take time to make time, he'll never get time...pointing out that he's been on auto-pilot for some time now and if Alex stops that he'll be able to talk with him. Since the knowledge about Delilah's fate...Liam had been trying to give Alex some space, knowing pretty well the pain that could leave on a person. As a different option, Rhea invited Alex to work with practicing a more basic set of skills in the training room with her...it wasn't a formal class but getting more comfortable to deal with a fight if one should occur. No guns or swords or magics, just straight physical body movement directed in simple motion and strikes. Somewhere during that talk, a past image came to mind and a slightly haunted look crossed Alex's face as he ended the conversation for the night. It was going to take time, but hopefully once he opened up more of that conversation with Liam it would help-- that was Rhea's hope.
