Sheriff Winchester was dead, and the DeWitt Outlaw Gang had declared all in Old Hallow dead men. However, one of their own had taken up the badge of the fallen sheriff, Alex DeWitt. Most of the town had never been in a true fight before...not like the one that'd be riding to their doorsteps by nightfall. Still, while the town didn't have a lot of guns it was still enough to arm most folk. Perhaps oddly or not, several of the local whores knew how to load and operate a gun-- occupational hazard requirement of sorts. Delilah didn't quite understand why Alex was helping them...and to a point the young man wasn't fully certain himself. The best answer he had was being tired of living under his old man's thumb and waiting to see if it was the work or his father, Val DeWitt, that killed him first. No one really knew what to make of the newly appointed sheriff just yet, even Gwen wasn't certain how much to really trust the man-- her prior actions were responsible for what was about to befall the town, and instead of running off...Alex was sticking around to help instruct the townsfolk in what they were about to face. Perhaps the best that could be stated was the town was fighting to keep something while Alex stood by them fighting to get rid of something. As the bell sounded, final instructions were given as Rhea, Delilah, Gwen...the rest of the townsfolk took cover to allow Alex to start off doing the talking. His intent was to have a chat with the ol' man and settle things peaceably but if it all went south, then the town would have a shot at least to defend themselves. It didn't go as planned, but to such a one-on-one talk with his father and have it go well would be delusional in this case. Alex found himself under fire from Val until the man vanished as explosions sounded by the Sheriff's office, the doctor's office...accompanied by Molotov hitting the saloon. The fiery chaos had begun...and the DeWitt gang was moving in on with guns blazing to rip the town apart.
