Case File 2017.10.04

Midnight, the unusually large panther creature with the glowing yellow eyes, was difficult to see among the group of other shadowy felines. Even for those with enhanced senses would find it difficult to peg this creature within the surrounding area of the Darkening. Midnight greeted the additional guests, hinting that one from the Elizabeth House had previously crossed paths with him. Haplan was in no mood for word games, it didn't take long to get sick of the evasive answers of the overgrown panther to pull her gun and demand to know where her sister Willow was now. The tension grew as the air around darkened and some of those other glowing feline gazes winked out from view. Midnight didn't appear to be phased by the tiny human weapon but confirmed Willow made her way towards the Fount just as an explosion went off in that very same direction.

Soggy and weary, the group follow after Haplan in the direction of the Fount as a chaotic scene plays out before them. The the stone built well which must have been the Fount was Gwen...bleeding while Corvus was engaged in a three-way fight between him, The Conquistador and The Sentinel. In one area was a Shambler, an odd plant creature that'd pulled Willow down into the water, evident by the panicked look on her friends and a small pair of shoes sticking out from it, unmoving. As much as Liam, Alex or Rhea would have liked to go after Gwen-- it was Willow they were after, and they followed Haplan to pull the young girl from the plant creature as Haplan tried to revive her sister. Moments later the Fount disappeared and with it the three-way fight...which was obvious as the Old Crow swept Gwen away once more. It'd left them in an empty space where Fount once was and Willow's lifeless form. It might have seemed a lost venture for all of them, but Liam did find a vial that had been left behind by Gwen...stained in blood. It was water from the Fount...something they could use to restore her back to life and a means of tracking Gwen herself.

In the aftermath, Miss Lizzy had passed during their venture to follow Willow out to the Fount. Yet it seemed this was seen or known by the old woman in the first place, having given the location to Gwen prior with the price being the water to save Willow left as payment. She'd seen the death of the young girl searching for a way to help and paying the ultimate price...and arrangements had been made to change the outcome of that vision. A life was still lost, but it wasn't Haplan's sister Willow. From the vial, after the contents were used, there was enough trace of Gwen's blood to use a locator spell to figure out which direction Corvus' ship took them. Not that any of them were feeling up to hitting the road again, but hopefully the next time they caught up...that would be the last to resolving this matter. This road trip had taken a toll on all of them, and would probably take more before all was said and done.
