Crime within Chicago is not unheard of...though there are some cases that don't fit the normal mold. Some cases require the attention of the Special Investigations unit. Captain Elena Drake of the SI department was making a personal check into the matter. A man and a woman were dead and a child was missing. In her final walk-through of the area, Elena hadn't expected to run into anyone...especially Asher James. The area may not have been as crowded with police anymore, but there was still an officer just outside the apartment...so how he managed to enter without attracting notice raised a few questions. Asher wasn't entirely normal...and he definitely didn't manage to get in from the fire escape, though he wasn't about to admit that he'd just scaled a couple hundred feet up to the room. There was little time to really sort out the how and why aspects as a noise from the bedroom closet drew both of their attentions. A doll, one of those My Buddy toys, exploded from the pile of other surrounding toys as they'd looked at the odd figure suddenly taking life and launching itself towards Asher yelling. If not for the supernatural strength of this barely 2-foot tall toy slamming Asher and then Elena around the room, it might be comical. Elena tried to disable the thing with a few shots of her gun, but that didn't seem to work...but she knew something that would, Fidelacchius.
