DELILAH TURNER & ALEX DEWITT Alex had slept well since returning exhausted from his prior training with Liam. It was a quiet moment Delilah didn't want to disturb...especially not to mention that Mambo Jenty was dead and the others had gone to investigate the situation. It didn't take Alex long to feel her comforting presence and react to pulling her close to him. Stirring that Hunger within her from that other half of her own demon. It was starting to become too much and before that aspect of herself could surface and hurt Alex again...she blurted out the news that Mambo Jenty was dead. It didn't take long for him to piece together that there was an absence of people in the hotel suite they'd all been using as of late. He tried to distract her, offering to go out and eat-- though normal food is not what she needed and only added to the frustration she felt, torn by the need of that Hunger and not wanting to hurt him. Instead, she asked that he just sit with her, being there...as sucky as the situation of it all was...but just being there with her. She needed time...and patience...if she could feel true love for him, this could all change. If he didn't work with her...that Hunger might kill him before they could get that chance at life together.
LAFAYETTE HOTEL
Liam, Rhea, James and Lucy quickly navigated their way to the Lafayette Hotel where Mambo Jenty had been discovered dead. It was the same place where Rosaline and Brigitte Baptiste had been staying before the ceremony. Lucy left to be close to Rosaline as the bride and groom were not to see each other before the wedding itself. It left the other three to observe the broken form of Mambo Jenty on the floor, having attempted to draw as circle with her own blood to protect against this attack and unfortunately unable to do so. The Hounsis Farah was grief stricken and remained outside of the room. Given the nature of the city's spirit lock-down...Rhea wondered aloud if they could perhaps find out more information directly-- the violent death itself must have left more than the body on the floor. It was only moments later when Brigitte Baptiste, the bride's mother, entered the room to accuse James himself of all the deaths and the delays to this wedding. Things only escalated when Liam called out the mother by Name...Maman Brigit. Rhea did her best to de-escalate the situation, but ended up finding an unusually long hand silencing her own words. James pointed out that killing his Adjutant would do nothing to help Brigitte's daughter or this union between families. The message that her current course of action would in a sense ally herself with the powers working against her daughter's happiness was not lost on her...and while clearly still unhappy, she released Liam and Rhea and left. Leaving them to recover...and to figure out how to progress with the ceremony to restore a measure of balance to the city.
