It had been a long night for Liam, though the Circle the Maenad had helped him create held through the night. Having claimed guest rights, she couldn’t let him come to harm…but that didn’t mean she had to let him leave either. His time had been spent in meditation to deal with the situation at hand, it would remain a stand-off until morning. Once day broke though…everything went into motion— as the Circle dispersed, the dead surged along with the Maenad…all to the distant airhorns blaring ‘La Cocaracha’ from below the balcony. Liam threw himself down the thirty feet from the balcony…
…landing in the truck bed filled with blankets, pillows and hay that Ramirez had managed to get in there as it caught Liam. After being MIA since they’d initially split up, Rhea was relived to have made it in time. But there was no doubt she wouldn’t have been able to completely pull this off without the other Warden’s help. The recent events had left her feeling old…and it didn’t help that Ramirez stated he was already on his seventh decade. That just made her feel too young to feel too old for this kind of excitement. Once back at the church they were preparing to just drive around without direction until a message was received by one of the sisters. The details were astounding, information regarding sightings of a flying ship and a description of a woman fitting Gwen provided a lead towards Colorado.
Perhaps a bit of luck was on their side after all, even if things didn’t go as planned initially since arriving in Tijuana. Liam went to check on Alex and Delilah inside the back of the church, leaving Rhea to state her partings with Warden Ramirez. He promised to visit Chicago once he’d killed the Red King and cut down all his minions…because he was curious about their chemistry. She only half wanted to roll her eyes at that statement, but since found it amusing since she’d gotten a bit used to his antics. It wasn’t long before they got back on the road once more, at least with a good lead instead of wandering aimlessly. After clearing the border checkpoint, Liam took the wheel once more, suggesting Rhea catch up on some rest and thanking her. There was a lot tied behind the simple words, perhaps something to talk about later…but for the moment, rest. There was a long drive ahead and she was going to need to all the strength she could get before the next stop.
