THE ROMAN CATHOLIC ARCHDIOCESE OF TIJUANA

Rhea finally managed to regroup with Alex and Delilah at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tijuana. Ramirez following shortly after her once taking care of the Reds back in the abandoned factory. It seems that he was on good terms with the Priest of that church, which didn't usually happen often...given the whole magic aspect Wardens used tended to rub some the wrong way. As they settle inside, the small group takes stock of their present condition and injuries.

Delilah seemed to be mostly okay, all things considered. The Padrew had brought clean drinking water, towels and a first aid kit in for their use. Rhea just gave a 'please don't tell me you just said that' look to the other woman when she'd commented that it could have been worse. The last thing any of them needed was to actively invoke Murphy's Law right now. She checked with Alex and Delilah to see if they were badly injured, she'd help if needed but conserving her energy would be best for whatever would be coming next. They'd only managed to gain a brief moment to breathe...of that she was certain.

Once he'd managed to collect himself, Alex dismissed any fuss at worrying about him, more concerned for Delilah. Though another question came to mind, prompting the young man to ask his former teacher. This was the first time Alex had encountered Reds and it was a bit more of a surprise. Noticing the pain at just trying to use his hands, especially after the gun had injured them further when Alex had shot the vampire, Delilah set to working on helping him heal. While healing itself drew on a large amount of power, those that could tap into it were a bit of a curosity. Even if Delilah's own abilities were strong in how she could work and manipulate those healing energies like Reiki...it could still be considered little league when compared to Rhea's quirky knack for healing. Regardless, it still took a lot of energy for a practitioner.

Rhea gave a brief comment as she noticed what Delilah was doing. Not stating more than 'nice trick' as the other woman tended to Alex. The fact she was healing him allowed Rhea to conserve her energies and focus on playing the role of battle mage. After a brief moment she confirmed to Alex that what he'd seen outside the RV had been Reds. Looking like nasty, overgrown bats...fast and strong, with maybe a chance to survive if you could gut their belly. The loss of blood would weaken them and give them less power in a fight. As the adrenaline wore off, Alex relaxed a bit and started to doze off while he was being healed.

Delilah may have given a look to Rhea at the brief comment, but the Warden knew and appreciated the work being done on her former apprentice. After the events in Vegas her once-upon-a-time teacher, Liam, had taken over responsibility. Rhea had been perhaps his only 'drop-out' student of magic, for her own reasons. She wasn't certain if that change in mentor-ship left her relieved or worried. With a nod and thanks to Delilah for her aid, she turned to settle in and do one of the more difficult tasks in life...wait.

EL BACO NOIR

Back in the El Baco Noir, Liam had lost track of time...and even the reason why he was there in the first place. He knew it had something to do with the woman Gwen, who'd set him up for murder and stolen his power. However it was a blur as he continued to kiss her neck, shadows casting a light a light to a figure in the past. Caught in the ecstatic haze that clouded both their thoughts, both Liam and Gwen were oblivious to Dianya circling them, whispering. It was perhaps moments later when a fierce presence tore into the room, wind tearing a path into the upstairs level, as Captain Corvus interrupted the more intimate moment between Liam and Gwen. Disrupting the haze of Bassaridi's influence over both. The spirit held a cutlass at Liam's chest and an flintlock pistol at Dianya, having come to the aid of his new master.

The cold, as well as a blade to his chest, when that wind along with Corvus tore into the room...did much to disperse the haze the Maenad only moments held over Liam and Gwen. Anger was perhaps the clearest thought for at first as he pieced together the course of events, not to left out of the fun...the wailing cries of Wanderland's Lost sounds in the distance. Dianya was furious, apparently no one had ever challenged the Maenad's power in her place. Yet that was exactly what Corvus had done, and reclaiming Gwen in the process the two leave to head off and continue their way on the Old Crow.

That left Liam and Dianya behind...with the approach of The Lost seeking to claim him on the way. Had Gwen stayed...they probably would have taken her as well, seeing as she'd stolen from Wanderlands vault. There wouldn't be much he could do to follow that spirit ship, so for now dealing with The Lost was of a top priority. Turning to face Dianya he invoked the guests rights as Liam had been welcomed into her place of power. He couldn't close a circle in his current state and loss of power, but the Maenad, while not mortal, would have abilities to deal with The Lost even if this place didn't have a proper barrier to keep spirits from crossing into the space.

Dianya had toed the line with Gwen as host and regardless of Corvus' actions...it would be difficult to prove or do anything should she be able to prove he'd wronged her, even on Gwen's behalf. However...Liam had invoked his guest rights, so she would have to keep him from coming to harm within her own home. She closed the Circle around him that he'd been trying to form and The Lost hit it like a wall, unable to reach him. Needless to say it was a bit unnerving to see them clawing for him outside the protective space...and for the time being, Liam was stuck in place for the night.

On the Old Crow there was a moment for Gwen to catch her breath and clear the rest of the haze from her mind. His timing at interfering was good, even if he teased that she were content for the moment-- the very real danger of Wanderland's Lost coming for Liam and like Gwen herself due to her actions were all too real. It was he'd acted. Plus it removed the experience have having a very uncomfortable morning after realization should things have continued as they were before the intrusion. The Maenad apparently had other intentions outside any other agreements.
