Upon the death of the Autumn Queen within Neutral Ground…Kismet’s Table broke. The crack within the disruption of power didn’t just unmake a part of what was Wanderland…it disrupted it’s protections. The rash act of Liam Winchester against Wren, the Autumn Queen, reduced her to a lifeless girl, but also disrupted Sterling’s Power as Host within Wanderland. Confusion stirs as those two men stare each other down at the consequences for such actions…it would change nothing now, but rectifying the issue was still a concern. Sterling leads them to the Vault— thankfully Elena finds the Sword Fidelacchius present, but the item the ‘once’ Autumn Queen, Liam and Rhea had placed in the Host’s care had been stolen.
Liam was quick to piece together that it was Gwen…she’d made her bet at the table and quickly folded…allowing her time to aim for a larger prize. That being contents within Wanderland's Vault. The infraction for killing on Neutral Ground could not be ignored, Liam was still a dead man but sunrise was close and it would give a bit of a head-start to go after her and attempt to rectify the situation on some level. Rhea couldn’t let the Anchor be lost without any given chase, knowing how much of an artifact it was and the potential in the wrong hands— she didn’t want to cross blades with Corvus again and this situation made it more likely of such an occurrence in the near future under a different Master to such a tool.
Elena, upon exiting the odd interference that Wanderland caused, found herself called back to Chicago— a place that neither Rhea, Alex or Liam would be heading for…with Delilah’s help a Winnebago was secured— something less likely to break down with three magic users riding within its metal frame. While not ideal…partings with Elena were made as the group split. Those following Gwen, the thief of Wanderland’s Vault…and Elena, heading back to Chicago and whatever chaos was suddenly unfolding in the brief absence. Asher's multiple messages to her didn't leave a easy feeling about what she could be walking back to there.
In another part of town, Monty was meeting up with Gwen for an exchange of funds in turn for LaDragos’ power, The Demon. Having all the pieces of conflict in perfect alignment for this distraction it was an easy task to obtain such an exchange of Power to his hands. The Ice Queen, Gwen, seemed unphased that anyone would be after her at this point and was actually counting on it…
