Case File 2017.03.15

Even adding a few hours since her call to announce a meeting with Monty was annoying and frustrating. It wouldn’t have done any good to show up unannounced to the Raith estate, but it didn’t settle her worry any either. It was the better part of an hour before she and Elena were shown into Monty’s office— apparently having just engaged in an activity that required a lack of clothing. Seeing as he was still barefoot and just settling in and buttoning up a white button up that appeared casually tossed on before the two of them entered the room. The sight was a bit much…and his intensity and presence was a bit unnerving— their last more ‘personal’ encounter had been…something. Something she’d tried to keep far out of mind. It was a blessing to have Elena at her side in this encounter— at least one of them would be clear headed.

She should have suspected Monty to tease a bit on that level, having a taste of her energy during that one incident a long while back. She hadn’t expected it to still leave quite a lingering effect, but part of her couldn’t quite shake that ‘Kiss’ from memory. The conversation didn’t remain in the hazy phase of Monty’s usual intensity for long, the annoyance and anger was the best buffer she could muster to keep that distance between her and him— that influence. Though in the action, it had annoyed him to play the card of asking for ‘fair payment’ for information she was already certain he had, but to what degree she didn’t entirely know just yet. Hesitantly she offered a favor in return, with conditions not to compromise her personal code or duties as a Warden. She didn’t want to make the offer in the first place but…she needed to find a better clue to locate Alex— plus Elena was present to hear the arrangement in person. However…Monty stated to include not just Rhea but ‘associates’ into the agreement. Attempting to point out she could not speak for any other than herself didn’t prove to be enough, but Elena stepped up to back her and agreed to the terms as well.

Finally…a lead! Though…it was leading outside the city of Chicago to, of all places, Las Vegas. The City of Sin. Monty mentioned a man by the name of Vaclav LaDragos and the nature of using “rabbits” to ensnare young men such as Alex. She could almost roll her eyes at that statement, not surprised in the least— seeing as last time that ended in Mab. Though the only other helpful mention that Monty gave was that this individual would likely be involved and could be found in Wanderland within the city of Vegas this time of year. When asking for clarification…that’s where Monty ended the meeting abruptly. If he knew…he wasn’t stating— the bargain for the favor apparently didn’t include the location of this specific venue within the other city. Seeing it as a lost cause to press further, Rhea gave a curt response to signal their departure before silently apologizing to Elena. Once outside, they made arrangements to travel via way of Corvus and his ship to Vegas. Carrying the ‘anchor’ on her was only slight comfort and at the same time a concern— that was something she didn’t want to lose…for fear of the Captain being drawn into servitude to someone that wouldn’t allow him to exercise any free will. Plus…Corvus was a fierce individual she wouldn’t want to cross blades with again— she’d done so before and didn’t relish the thought of doing so ever again… However…that would be a side concern— it was time to locate this person and place…and Alex.
