Vegas. The day of Alex's first fight. The roar of the excited crowds could be heard from within the cell area where Alex and the other Wildcards were kept until it was their turn to fight. This fight wasn't one he'd particularly cared to be a part of but since he had no choice in the matter, he would do his best and hope to survive against the vampire Calder. At first it seems that Calder had less enthusiasm at being there as well, playing favorite to an injry on his side. Seeming unamused that Sterling was officiating this fight. Delilah was also in the crowd standing as witness for LaDragos.
As this was Alex's first fight, he wasn't expecting the jolt of voltage coursing up his arm, likely from that silver bracelet signaling the start of the fight. Calder was prepared though, taking advantage of the surprise to get the drop on his human opponent. Back and forth, Alex did his best to give as good as he got, but he was pushing himself with the claw marks and dislocated arm, courtesy of Calder. For a moment it didn't appear as if Alex would make it through this fight. Resigned to that possible fate, Alex through everything he had into his attacks on Calder and annyoing him to the point of causing the other to lose his calm and leaving his true weak spot exposed. After that, it took no time for Alex to tear into the broken rib injury and proceed to rip it out and stab Calder in the eye-- not holding back since the other would have killed him. Moments later, silence engulfs the room as Calder flailed about until going completely still. Alex had killed the Black Court Vampire and those that had bet on the human likely scored big that night.
Victor to this fight, Alex was led to the infirmary as the crowd celebrated this turn in events from the fight. Moments later Delilah arrives to begin treatment on Alex. Still uncertain of Delilah's intents, he tries to confirm how much to invest his feelings about this girl and likely what would happen regarding Mab's intent. Though that itself could be something other than what it seems. For the most part, it appears they're on the same page, both are prisoners of a sort in this world now. That for now was enough for Alex to reaffirm his intent to get Delilah out of this situation. He wasn't certain letting go and taking out Calder was the best of ideas, but apparently it had earned Alex some points. The vampire Wildcard wasn't well liked and at least, courtesy of Sterling, there'd be a couple days to recover before potentially facing his next match. As she finished up tending to his injuries before being led back to his cell, Alex would find hidden away some pain killers and anti-inflammatory meds stashed away carefully out of view. Not something you would do for a condemned man, Delilah had been betting on him to survive.
