Vegas. City of Sin. Alex finds himself gradually coming to within the confines of a dark cell and unable to tap into his power. Though as luck would have it, he wasn’t alone— he had a cellmate across the path from him, Lucky Ed. It appeared that Lucky had been around this life for some time and was surprised that Alex had no clue as to what he was now tangled up in regarding the bouts that Wildcards held at the amusement of others to earn their way to the top as a champion and freedom. Frustrated and unable to speak on much due to “Mab’s” gag order, he learns as much as possible from the young kid Lucky regarding what he’s up against before attempting to call it a night. The attempt interrupted by the door down the hall opening as Delilah enters and starts distributing food to those in the cells. She pauses at Alex’s cell a bit longer than most, and relays a short message that Alex himself was due to fight tomorrow— a vampire. Doing her best to relay a weak spot for his opponent before the guard that had led her in to feed the rest of the Wildcards had gotten irritated and started shouting in some other language. Apparently that other man wasn’t allowed to touch her, no one was allowed to touch her…but she’d taken the risk and likely would be punished for her actions in warning Alex. Just not by this guy. This little spat clued in Lucky to exactly who his new cellmate, Alex, had gotten mixed up with to end up in this place. Alex is determined to save Delilah…and the other Wildcards stuck in this place. For now, he needed to eat and rest— tomorrow he fights.
Chicago, the Windy City. Meanwhile, back at the Castle— things were business as usual, though Rhea was half expecting the quiet to be broken by Alex any moment now. It’d been about a day since she’d seen her young student, but it wasn’t too unusual for him to do his own thing…it just made her worry since he managed to get into trouble. Plus, he’d put her on his ‘radar’ to bug regarding her own health and wellbeing…while a bit annoying at the method of doing so, it was a bit of a wake up call. It was also rather sweet and endearing. Rachel makes an appearance a bit later in her evening and pokes at her thoughts. Reassuring stating that Alex was probably fine. Which didn’t fully sit well with her entirely but lead to the thought of doing a check-in on the young man. Bringing up the idea of why not go and check out one of the places Alex works at in person to check in on him. Hesitant at the idea of interrupting his job, she couldn’t quite shake the idea from mind and gets ready to head out with Rachel to check. Who’d have thought she’d ever get to the point where she’d willing be within a 5-foot radius of the other woman… She’s been having a lot of odd changes in life lately.
