Chicago. The Windy City. A realitively quiet night if one wasn't out in midst of the spooky-natural side of things. Elena, head of SI and Knight of the Cross, was often on the run due to one job or the other-- at times those overlapped but even still didn't leave her any less busy. In a spare moment to drop by the Castle tonight, Alex runs into her for a bit of conversation. Touching base a bit on how he's been...frustrated on the slow learning process with Rhea but adjusting and for the most part keeping out of trouble. At least outside of the looming issue to deal with Mab owed debt still pending. Elena nudges Alex to stop cheating between two teachers and to suggest a bit less book learning approach. Not that he feels it'd work much and asking for a bit of support from her to get Rhea on board with a different lesson plan. No sooner than Alex had settled into his favorite chair with a light drink and started to practice on his magical studies-- the tell-tale click of heels announcing Rachel's presence reach the young man's ears...and perhaps a few other senses too. She was looking for Rhea herself, determined to ensure the Warden took the spa day she arranged and paid for tomorrow. Of course the brief encounter left a 'lingering' feeling for Alex resulting in a full workout and cold shower before calling it a night. By the time Rhea makes her way in from the night she'd find Rachel's 'spa day confirmation' waiting for her.
Across the pond in a secluded chateau in France, a conflicting discussion between Gwyneed and Liam takes place regarding the fate of Jason. After what she'd seen yesterday, it was difficult to ignore the fact that the other man was a forged living weapon. The nature of his origin while unclear all point to the Council having taken a hand and breaking many of the Laws they'd put into place of which many honest modern practitioners fear to break. The knowledge and conflicting realization of what Jason's physical existance and her duty to the Council itself leaving her torn between decisions. Liam knows that enemies...far older than many may even recall...are resurfacing-- Jason appears to be the only one encountered thus far who's equipped to go toe-to-toe with them. Eventunally it comes down to tentative agreement of Gwyneed being chaperone to Jason and keeping the Council out in exchange for Liam to better explain in better detail what's going on and what situation is looming in the background. In the meantime, until their conversation was done with a decision, Jason would observe and listen with the aid of his enhanced senses while going through some practice motions with the blade. He made no hide to bluntly asking as to that decision when Nedd rejoins him a short time after that conversation. The concerns stated openly, Jason and Nedd would be partners of a sort going forward-- though he makes it clear his job is not in games, just killing monsters...even if others might consider what he is as one as well...
